I'm going to recommend a trilogy books this time. Today I recommend Jacey Ford. She is an romantic suspense writer. Jacey Ford is also a pseudonym name to Beverly Brandt -which is lighter side of her's contemporary comedies romance. I was hooked into Jacey Ford Partner in Crimes trilogy when my dear friend Darla recommend her books to me. And it is a very pack action series with strong heroines. I love strong heroines in my books *grin*. I have read so many books with heroines not being so strong but yet likable anyway, but this was great change :)
Partner in Crimes is about three friends, former FBI agents, who left their job to run a Partner in Crimes business together. And each women get their own HEA stories for each installments. You will met Raine, Aimee and Daphne as they solve each mystery and along the way, fall in loves. They're lot of fun, actions, romance, emotional depth and strong heroines who kick butt. It sorta reminded me of the TV show "Alias", which had ended their season series finale this year. As you read, you can't help but applause to the heroines and the risk they took to save not only themselves but others too. It really a worthy read! :)
The titles of this trilogy are:
1) Dangerous Curves
2) I Spy (my most favorite of the three!)
3) Dead Heat
I haven't read under Beverly Brandt yet - But Darla assure me it is good. So I might try this soon.
For more info on Jacey Ford books, here her's website, see below. Also I add the link to Beverly Brandt as well (her pseudonym name). If you interested just follow the link below.....

Close Up ****1/2

(Romantic Suspense)
This is the first time I have read a book by Virginia Kantra. I was recommended this book by many good friends (Darla included *grin* - Thank You!) . I waited so long to read it, because I was busy trying to play catch up on my other books series. But because I trust my friends who have recommended me great books in the pasts, I knew I be in for good reading. And they were right :) Not only that...a popular author, Suzanne Brockmann also recommended her reader to read this book too (grin). And I'm difinately going to read Home Before Midnight , the second book to the installment. If you want to know more about this author books...click here

This is romantic suspense story set in North Carolina. The story began with Lexie running away from the survivalist,religious group who kidnapped her to teach her FBI director father a lesson.
Jack Miller, a suspended cop, came to North Carolina to rescue his sister from her abusive husband, who is the leader of a survivalist cult group. His sister wrote letters pleading him to come get her and Issack, her son, away from the compound because she feared for their safety from her husband.
But when Jack went to get his sister, he saw Lexie trying to escape from the compound and decided to help her even though he knew he shouldn't, because it could ruin the plan he made to save his sister, Sally. So they did their best to hide in the deep forest, away from Locke's men.
Then love sparked between the two, and they wondered if they will see each other again after he gets her to safety. Also, Lexis had pictures to prove the abuse and wrong that the survivalist cult was doing. Once for all she wanted to take them down, especially the leader, the man who kidnapped her. And to do that, she would have to give herself up to leader.
The book was tension-packed, romantic, and suspenseful with enough emotion added in. It was fast pace, exciting and with a lot of action! I love it :)I loved the two main characters and they seem to be a likeable couple :)

Shadow of the Moon ****1/2

(Paranormal Romanctic Suspense)
Paranormal happens to be a genre I don't normally read. But there are some I enjoy reading..such as werewolves,witches,time travel, and telepathy.
Rebecca York, is one of my favorite werewolves series writer. She had the talent to make me get into the stories and make it work. Her characters are always likeable. With promises of excitement, mystery and romance....York is so much worth it IMO. If you want to find out about her books, then, click this link....

Shadow of the Moon is the latest "Moon" werewolves series. I love how the cover art is just the right touch of what the series is about. Showing some mystery in between --- Savannah Carpenter gets the news that her sister, Charlotte have been in accident. The police said she fell off on an outcropping of rock, but Savannah knew that it's not true. But before she could get any answers, her sister died.
But the mystery of the ultra-exclusive night club "Eighteen Club", where famous or regular people go to partake their fantasies in erotic and dangerous games. It is protected building where inside held a secret. In there, may lie the answers to her sister's death. Only she will have to find a way to enter the "Eighteen Club".
Lance Marshall is the werewolf, journalist, who was interested with the secret of "Eighteen Club". He wanted to do research on the place and to find a way to enter the building so he can write about it. But his attention turned towards saving Savannah, twice and helping her find out the mystery of her sister's death. And the only way to gain entrance is to be invited in and act as lovers....
The power force brought in together the Marshall brothers and cousins and their wives to fight against the evil. And for the first time, since the males are all alpha-they have trouble compromising, the brothers faught together to kill the evil forces.
I really enjoyed seeing the Marshalls' brothers and their wives again; including the cousins. The book grabbed me from the first page and I never put it down. It was wonderfully exciting and very steamy, sensual, with some explcit scenes. The book added dimension to the story which was good. Very well written book!
I love the werewolves "Moon" series. And I think you won't be disappointed in it. It's a worthy read! Do yourself a favor and go read Rebecca York. If you like to read it, here the list in orders.....
Killing Moon
Edge of the Moon
Witching Moon
Burning Moon (Novella from "Craving" anthology)
Crimson Moon
Shadow of the Moon
New Moon (available on June 2007)

Cover of Night ****

(Romantic Suspense)
I know am suppose to write my thoughts on Shadow of the Moon by Rebecca York. But I haven't any chance to joint it down yet.
But while am trying to gather my thoughts on that, I want to mention that I am currently reading Cover of Night by Linda Howard. It is great so far. And am enjoying it. I really think that you should read this one.
And anyone who is new to Linda Howard, there are more great books she written over the past years. You should try reading her books. I would have linked her website, but she don't have one :(
When am done, I will let you know how I like it. But so far it is good :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edit to update/add my thoughts
Cover of Night started out a little slow, showing the background into the life of our heroine, a widow, Cate Nightingale. After her husband died, she was left to raise her twin boys and to run the Bed and Breakfast in Idaho. Then two thugs, held a gun on her and her co-worker and demanded to give them the suitcase that belonged to one of her mystery guests. Cal is the shy plumber (so Cate thought he was) who saved them. But what happen to Cate, rattled her so much that she sent her sons to her's mom to take them away from harm. Cate looked at Cal differently. She never knew the side of him that the rest of the town did, and she grew to fall for him. Then the town experinced a sudden blackout and was taken hostage. So everyone did all they can to survive, fight for their lives, and try to find the person behind it all.
While I did enjoy the book, it wasn't much better than Cry No More. Cover of Night was more of a light mystery thriller than just a romance. The romance part came later in the story. But I still care for each characters (the main h/h and secondary h/h). I also like Cate's twin sons. I think any mother can interacted with Cate on her love toward her sons. She did everything to make ends meet, all for her sons :) I do think you should try reading this book. Linda Howard is one of the good writer out there :)
Rec'd series book/Diana Gabaldon
My third recommendation will be The Outlander series written by Diana Gabaldon. I have alway felt like am actually sitting down on the floor and listening to Gabaldon telling me one of the greatest story in history. It tell the story of Jamie Fraser, a Scottish Highlander from the 18 century and his wife who is time traveler. It is filled with great adventures with romance and wonderful family. You will grown to love each characters, emotionally and phycially. And everything that happen to them, well get to you. The story is well written and it is written very much detailed. And told in first person.
I admit the first time I read it, I couldn't get into it. I almost gave up. But after over 100 and + pages, when Claire travel in 18 century - thing get better. Some people stop reading because the first Chapter or + pages were so slow to them. Other stopped because it was too much detailed or couldn't get into the story. Or the fact that the book itself is thick. Whatever the reason, don't stop reading it. It get better as the story move on. Each books will bound to slow you down but some of the most memorable scenes are shown in between and it very touching to the heart. It pull my heart for this couple and family. So please pick up the first book "Outlander" today and read it. You won't regret it :)
Here are the list in order:
Outlander
Dragonfly of Amber
Voyager
Drums of Autumn
The Fiery Cross
A Breath of Snow and Ashes
Rec'd Book and What I'm Reading
Shadow of the Moon by Rebecca York / Silent Water by Jan Coffey
My next reading will be Shadow of the Moon by Rebecca York. I usually love reading York's Moon series, werewolves story. They had all kind of cool action going on. Such as Demon against wizard, werewolf with witches..and so on. Each werewolf brothers and friends get their own stories told. I managed to get one of my friend, Angela from England to read the first book and she love it. Since the hero in the first book was P.I. The heroes are yummy and you weren't want to miss reading about them. And yes Melody,(*grin*) it is part of series :) Thank to my friend Darla, who got me hooked to these series. I weren't have discover werewolves story *wink* :)
While you wait for me to finish with Shadow of the Moon so that I can blog my thoughts on it.... I thought I recommend a stand alone book this time.
I recommend Silent Water by Jan Coffey. It is great book if you like romantic suspense. Actually it more of suspense in this book. It is a edge to the seat face pace read. Suspense and action. Jan Coffey is pseudonym of husband and wife writing team Jim and Nikoo McGoldrick. Here the Blurb I find at the back of the book for Silent Water :
"Fighting for their lives aboard the hijacked submarine, superintendent Amy Russell and Commander Darius McCann have only one hope for survival. With the lives of millions at stake, they must play a dangerous game of cat and mouse, where capture would mean certain death......
On land, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Connelly and Commander Bruce Dunn are working to learn the details of the hijacking in time to stop attack. As mass hysteria paralyzes New York City, the two investigators uncover a trail of secrets as dangerous as the silent weapon aimed at the heart of America."
Even Vampires Get the Blue ****
As promise I'm going to post my thought on Even Vampires Get the Blue" by Katie MacAlister. It started out slow, only because I was busy during the summer. My niece was here with me for the whole summer and I didn't get any time to read much. So I find myself having to put the book down every few minutes. I finally was able to read where I left off, and find that I sorta (I admit it)enjoy it...a little. I usually like reading Katie's vamp books but with this one, I felt the book was different then all the previous installment of the vamps series. In some way I was let down. I think because I don't get to see the previous heroine or characters making appearance in this one. But each new characters in this one was likeable in their own way and that what I enjoy about the book. Other then that this had different feel of the book and it seem like something is missing. I would still recommend anyone to read this book. But start from the first book. If you love romantic comedy of vamps, you will enjoy each installments. It is a fun, laugh out loud a minute :)
