July Book 1
Taken by Barbara Freethy
(Romantic Suspense)****stars
This is the first book I ever read by Barbara Freethy. And am impressed. I was recommend this book by friend, who I have some common taste in. Thank Darla! There are alot of twists and turn, multitude of threads, that are well done when it weave in all together to good conclusion. I love this author and I think I'm going to read her backlists.
Kayla Sheridan thought she had married the man of her dream. She has longed for love, marriage and family. But he seem to disappear on their wedding night. And she was afraid he was either kidnapped or ran out on her with cold feet. The only thing that Evan took with him was her's grandfather pocket watch, that hold no value...so she thought.
Nick Granville came home from a trip in the jungle of Africa, engineering a bridges which he had passion for. He found that someone have been living in his house while he was away. It concern and upset him. Then he crossed path with an ruthless con man - Evan Chadwick, an old classmate, who robbed everything that he values, even his identity. He would risk anything to clear his name and take back everything that belong to him...
Together, Nick and Sheraidan are thrown into each other path to a journey to find the truth and to uncover the mysterious motives of their linked pasts, that held a shocking secret. And find out what connection link does the pocket watches hold for both of them and their families. Even what role does Evan play in all this.
