Writing in Books, Part Two

1.A couple weeks ago, we asked about how you take care of your books, with one of the questions asking whether you write in your books. Well, what about books that are meant to be written in? Like, say, a journal or diary? Do you keep one? Obviously, if you're answering this, you have a blog--do you just let your blog be your journal? Or do you also keep one for private stuff also?

Don't forget to leave a link to your actual response in the comments--or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

- When I was still in high school I used to write in a journal book daily. I started out with a diary first. Then I journaled. I still kept those books in my red chest box, which hold my past. Hoping someday I will go back and read what I wrote and see how much I have changed. I stopped writing until between the year 1989-1990, which was the year the oldest niece was born. I started to write a daily journal for her. I journal about her daily growth from babies to teenager. I talked to her about my family(her dad side of the family)and relatives. I wanted her to get to know us, and understand where she is coming from. So that someday when we are gone, she will have this journal books to remember us by and remember who she is and not to forget. And of course she will know how much we all love her. She is aware that this journal existed...but I told her she not reading it until she married or when it is the right time to give it to her ;)

I do blog, but not as often as many people here. Okay, let me refrain that.... I do blog alot about my thought in books and little bit on my family. The two most important things in my life :) I try not to blog on anything personal, because ...well..because I tend to like to keep some piece of my life private. However the meme is supposedly give you some small tidbits about my life..a little. That why I do the meme :)

Happy Booking Through Thursday! I hope everyone have a very nice day!

I think creating a journal for your niece is a lovely idea - I will, at some point, go back and read my journals. I hope I'll see the patterns of my life -

Like you, I blog about the things that are not so personal. The knitting blog is for (of course) knitting and politics and various other things. The reading blog is for all things literary. The personal things are for my journal and selected people in my life.

Glad to meet you!

That is one of the loveliest ideas I have heard of! She will be so grateful, as will her children and grandchildren. You hear all the time of families trying to learn more about their history. Your journals will provide the rich details that often are lost.

I think writing a journal for your niece is a wonderful thing. I wish someone did that for me when I was born. It's so sweet of you =)

I read my old journals too and I try (very hard) not to be embarrassed about what I wrote when I was younger and less wiser teehee
