Preservatives

Booking Through Thursday

Today’s question comes from Conspiracy-Girl:
I’m still relatively new to this meme so I’m not sure if this has been asked yet, but I’m curious how many of us write notes in our books. Are you a Footprint Leaver or a Preservationist?

I never ever write on my novel books. It just big no no. I never even dog ear the pages either. I take care of books that I buy. They're always clean unless it the book I brought from used books. If ever I need to write down a notes so I can remember later, I just marked them with bookmarks or other flat items. So that I can go back to it when writing reviews or for group books discussion.

Of course when I was in high school I used to write on my books. Those Shakespeare booklet play was always marked. And even the novels book were written with notes and I learn a big lesson after that. It is a no no for me now......... ;)

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

Same here. I stopped that habit of writing in my paperbacks long time back.

Hi Julia! Your answer made me sound like a book villain. No, more like a book violator... I don't write in novels but I do dog-ear them. They are very very new despite the treatment I give them. Once a book lands on my lap, it's for keeps. That's why I like to 'own' it.

I tend to agree with you! I write in my non-fiction or textbooks... notes to help me remember pertinent information. But fiction?? NO. Never.

Happy BTT!

There are quite a few of you strict preservationists, I see. :-) I am not so strict myself, although I rarely do write in the books I own--only occasionally when desperate times call for desperate measures.

Oh yeah, another "preservationist"! I'm the same way - I don't write in them, turn down corners, much less write in the margins. I like to take good care of my books too - they're like treasured friends to me :)

Happy Reading!
