Grocery Shopping & Books!
Today on Saturday April 4, I went grocery shopping in the afternoon. We put lot of stuff in our cart, but we were afraid to look at the price on everything. So we didn't dare look. But WHOA! -- the totals were a lot! But it was necessarily because we were going to do some grill cook out in our backyard today, YAY!. Took us like less than 3 hours by the time we put our grocery bag in the car and head home.
The good new is I did buy two books by an authors I never read before: Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas and Tall, Dark and Deadly by Lorie O'Clare. Over the years, I have heard so much good thing about Lisa Kleypas's books. And it was highly recommendation to me too many times. But still, I hesitated to buy her books because 1) I don't usually like reading first person POV and 2) Most books raved/recommendation to me were historical, which I don't read often. But there are an exception books that I do read. Like Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series for example. Both are historical and it told from first person POV. Which as it turn out to be one of my favorite book series. So back to where what I was talking about...I decided to break down and buy Lisa's Blue-Eyed Devil, since it's contemporary and just to test the water on Lisa's book. It's released in paperback, the only format I could afford for now since we are in budget. I just hope it turn out as good as what readers' raved and said. Do I have to read Sugar Daddy before I read Blue-Eyed Devil? The back cover blurb of Lorie O'Clare book caught my interested. I usually don't relay on the blurbs to buy my books. Because 1) sometime what you read from the blurb isn't what you get inside the book. 2) Sometime it spoiled it for me. But I for one, love to read series books. So when I read on the blurb it's the first in a brand new series, I grab it and put in my shopping cart. The good things is, Tall, Dark and Deadly is romance suspense and that is my favorite genres in book.
So we got home, we started our grill cook out. We had steaks, juicy corn, grill smoked sausages, pasta salad & lettuce salad, burgers, hot dogs and soft drink. YUM! I was so fulled that I only had one plate. I usually go for second..but have mercy, I just couldn't eat anymore LOL! It was a very nice Saturday and sunny with breezing wind. A nice start for the weekend. I fear next week days won't be as nice as this. Just notice on TV that next week days will be cold for the first 3-4 days - eh.
I'm currently reading Dark of Night by Suzanne Brockmann. I've been reading it for a week now. I know that I'm slow to finish it but I've been busy at home. But I'm taking my times with it, to enjoy every second of every words from the book. Have I mention that The Troubleshooter is one of my favorite series books? *grin*.
I wish everyone to have a nice rest of the weekend!

I would think that it would be best to read Sugar Daddy before you read Blue Eyed Devil, otherwise you won't see all of Hardy's character arc.
Thanks Marg for your help. I'm one who like to read books in order, no matter if it series, trilogies or whatever. So..maybe I should pick up Sugar Daddy too :)
I haven't read those books you bought, but I really enjoyed reading a few historicals by Lisa Kleypas. I've not tried her contemps though...
The grills sounds great! Yum! :D
The grill was yummy!I never knew you've read Lisa Kleypas historicals! Interesting...
