Shadows At Sunset

(Romantic Suspense)
4 half/5 stars

Anne Stuart website

Once again, Melody (click here) and I are reading book together. It wasn't any hardship when we decided to read this book *grin*. But it was lot of fun reading Chapters to Chapters with her. And I know we will be doing plenty more of reading together :)

The House on Sunset Boulevard, the La Casa de Sambras, was full of secret. It once belong to a infamous murder-suicide of a 50's starlet film star, Brenda de Lorillard and her lover Ted Hughes, a movie director. Now rumors is known that people has spotted their "ghost" in the home of La Casa de Sambras and wonder where the "ghost" will go if mansion is suddenly gone. It was later that Meyer Enterprises purchase the house in 1960. But Jill Meyer and her sibling is the present owner of the mansion , despite it supposedly belong to her father Jackson Meyer. Because Jackson and Grandmere (Julia Meyer) has a strained and hostile relationship, their Grandmere make sure the mansion is taken away from Jackson greedy hand, and given to his three children. But if the children doesn't keep the mansion it will go to their father, Jackson Meyer.

Jill the strong one who kept the sibling together, Dean who tried to fight for his father approval and sexual issues and their adopted sister Rachel-Lee who struggle with alcohol, drugs and sex addiction. All living in La Casa de Sambras while trying to struggle with their lives. They even deal with their rich and powerful father, Jackson who doesn't care about his children except for money and his hand man Coltrane

Coltrane has an agenda for a revenge, to find out what really happen to his mother death. Which lead him to Jackson Meyer. When he managed to get into the Meyer life, he discover a unexpected thing that surprise him. And he wonder if there is a secret that he never knew about. He doesn't care who he hurt, but to only destroy everything that the Meyers' held to their heart, and bringing Jackson down, even when it mean to uncover some upsetting and explosive secret of the past. And Jill knew she must stop Coltrane from destroying what she loves and cherish the most. But Coltrane want Jilly, and it wasn't easy for her to ignore Coltrane. A sudden attraction sparked between them.

The La Casa de Sambras hold so many secrets, that only the "ghost" has witness. But finding loves, renew their relationship and loyal bring the characters close together once again in La Casa De Sambras, The House on Sunset Boulevard......

Anne Stuart have done it again! Even though Shadow At Sunset not as dark or deeper than the ICE series are, I still like the book for it mystery and intense story. It got me hooked in the beginning and leave me feeling very curious and surprise at the outcome. What I like about it is that each characters were interesting on their own. I love Coltane teasing and Jilly sense of humors. They blend in well together. I love the ending. It was very sweet. I'm planning to read more of her books!
