Thursday Thirteen: Edition # 20

My Favorite Kids/Pre-Teen Series Book

I've always been an reader since I was kid. And then going from pre-teen to adult, I still read today. Thanks to school, I weren't be able to order books from them when the library decided to have "Books Order Day", which is when all elementary students can go and see what books interested them and then place an order that same day. I always look forward to get my new books handed to me at my desk. I get excited. That was the years, when I knew I am a reader. Here are the list of my favorite series books. Notice if you click on titles it take you to books, authors or information website.

1. Nursery Rhymes books/Fairy Tale Book
2. The Little Golden Books
3. Dr Seuss series Books by Ted Seuss Geisel
4. The Harold(purple crayon) series by Crockett Johnson
5. Curious George series by Margret and H. A. Rey

Great list, Julia!
I read Nancy Drew during my elementary school days. ;P She was a great heroine IMO then. Hehe.

Quite a few of your books are on my list too hehe. I loved the Sweet Valley twins series, as well as Anne of Green Gables. I didn't get to read much of The Babysitter's Club though. It wasn't that popular here hehe. The others I read as excerpts in the books of my dad's hometown library. I did read some of Judy Blume's books specifically, "Are you there God? It's me, Margaret".

And I have to agree with Melody on Nancy Drew ahaha.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Sweet Valley twins! Thanks for bringing that up, Kat! :D

Ah, the little golden books--that was always my treat for sitting quietly in the grocery cart while shopping--which no doubt explains why I had so many of them!

I never read Dr. Seuss as a kid--my mom thought they were stupid. LOL I read them to my kids, though.

We already talked about Ramona and Nancy Drew. :)

I loved Curious George and Encyclopedia Brown. It's funny, I was never into horses the way so many girls are, but I loved the Black Stallion series. And the Wizard of Oz series. And there were a couple of kids' mystery series I liked--5 Little Hollisters, maybe?

Ramona!!! I tried reading Ramona to the kids, but they like Junie B. Jones better. I tried convincing them that part of the fun of Ramona is how outdated the books are (I mean, who uses blueing anymore???), but they didn't get it. *sigh*

#2's starting to get into Little House. I'm all for it.

I loved Ramona -- I also loved Little House, Harriet the Spy, Encyclopedia Brown, Nancy Drew, C. S. Lewis's stories, Madeleine L'Engle's stories, so many, and Charlotte's Web was my absolute favorite of them all. :)

What a great list! Happy TT to you, and thanks for visiting mine.
