Monogamy

Booking Through Thursday

One book at a time? Or more than one? If more, are they different types/genres? Or similar?

(We’re talking recreational reading, here— books for work or school don’t really count since they’re not optional.)

- Normally I would read one book at a time. It better for me to concentrate in one book so that I can devour it and enjoy it much better. A better way for me to get a feel for the characters and better understanding. If I read more than one, it hard to concentrate on both sometime. Because than I won't enjoy both books. Instead I might enjoy the other book more than the other one. So it won't be fair to the other (yes I treat my books like they're my children *grin*). I don't have problem remembering what happen from the book, where I left off if I picked it up again. But I do however would forget some small details if waited too long to get back to it. I want to be able to enjoy reading both of my favorite series books (yes I'm a big fan of a series books *grin*).

If I read more than one books, it normally is in a different genres. I read variety of genres book, but I mostly prefer romantic suspense, adventure/actions or comedies romance. My friend Darla, have taught me to appreciate all genres and to try different things. No matter if you don't like the book or genres, we just have to appericate the authors for their hard work on writing the book :)

But lately, even though I normally do read one book at a time, it seem I've been reading two books at the same time. Because 1.) I'm doing a re-read with someone else so that we can get ready for the next installment (the latest) books to come out. Or 2.) I'm doing a reading along together with someone else for fun. And last but not least 3.) It for the Books Challenge. *phew!* That seem a lot of reason...hehehe.

How about you? One book at a time or more than one?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

I'm always reading more than one book at a time. I can't help it.
I guess I'm a mood reader.

I understand what you mean about forgetting some small details if you wait too long to return to a book. I'm like that too. Much easier to read it all while things are still fresh in the mind. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

It depends a lot on my moods, but then again if I want to read more than one book at a time, I choose to read a different genre so I won't get confused, after all you know I have a short memory, bwahahaha...

Happy reading!

Cee Cee - I'm mood reader too. So sometime if am reading two books at sametime, I hope both books grab me *grin*

Smariek - Yep it much easier to read it all while it still fresh in my mind. But than I also re-read favorite books alot, so that help to refresh too.

Melody - Yeah I know how your short memory can be LOL....chosen different genres does help not to confuse me too...but I better hope that both books grab me or else I will quit (and I don't like to quit a book) or force myself to read the book :)

Awww... *smooches*, Julia.

I always think I only read one book at a time, but that's not strictly true. Like right now: I'm in the middle of Beyond Seduction by Kathleen O'Reilly, when I realized I still hadn't read High Noon for this week's discussion, so I stopped reading BS to start HN. And I'm in the middle of reading HP7 with the boys (already read it myself), and in the middle of Small Favor (the upcoming Harry Dresden book), which just about gave me heart failure today, so.... :)

Darla - I do know you read two books at same time *grin*...and it amaze me that you still read faster than me LOL!

I'm making my way to try to get catch up on HP books so that I can read HP7 (can't wait to read your review on this Darla!). I'm way behind. I guess....*gulp* I should be reading High Noon so that I can post comments on our Book Discussion of the Week at your Yahoo group *grin*....

Alice - I guess it good thing you're one book girl, because with your new job I see it will be difficult for you to have time to read more than one :)

Crafty Green Poet - It is really nice to read poetry, short stories..etc. If I ever have the time, I try poetry :)

Thanks both of you (and Darla) for stopping by. Please have a good day :)
