Friendship

Booking Through Thursday

Suggested by Marsha:
Buy a friend a Book Week is October 1-7 (as well as the first weeks of January, April, and July). During this week, you’re encouraged to buy a friend a book for no good reason. Not for their birthday, not because it’s a holiday, not to cheer them up–just because it’s a book.

What book would you choose to give to a friend and why?

And, if you’re feeling generous enough–head on over to Amazon and actually send one on its way!

- It always so easy for me when friends tell me what they want. And they will listed it in their wish list. And once in awhile, I would surprise them with a book(s) that is listed in the wish list. And their reaction is always priceless. It always a "Just Because...." book(s). I came upon "Buy a Friend a Book Week" last year (or maybe this year), and have brought a friend a book because of that website once. She is from England. And she love it. After that, I promise myself to go back to "Buy a Friend a Book Week" each months. But as each months goes by, I forgot about it. Being so busy can surely take away your free time.

If I had to chose a book, I would buy a book that I know they would like. Most of my friends have common taste as I do. So I can buy a book that I like, that I think they'll like but never tried to read yet. Or I just know the genres of books they like, even if they're different than mine. If a friend prefer Janet Evanovich's books, than I know to get them something comedies romance books. Or if they like thriller, than I know to get them Stephen King instead of a romance book. But also, I like to buy a book that is just outside of the box too. Know what I mean? ;) :)

Thanks for reminder: I may just go buy a book for a friend(s) today! :)

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

Most of my friends like the same books I do, as well. It takes great courage for me to buy a book for a friend that I know they will like, but that I know I wouldn't like! I should probably do that for BAFAB :)

Becca - It does take courage to buy a book for a friend that you normally don't like. But when you do buy it for them, you be glad that you did *grin*

Thanks for visiting my blog :) I hope you have a good Thursday!

Hey Julia! It's always great to share! The best thing is getting them to love a book which they have never tried reading before! To me, that's a bonus!

Happy belated BTT!

Hi Melody, welcome back from your vacation trip!

Yes the bonus is always buying a book to friend that they never read before. Maybe it will entice them to read more from that authors LOL ....

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a good Friday

It didn't occur to me until later that perhaps we can buy our friends books that we would like them to try and read... not necessarily something that they really like. :D Happy Thursday! It's Friday now where I am ^_^

I buy books during discounts and gift those during BAFAB. That way, I get to buy more books.
