Quirky

Booking Through Thursday

This week’s question is suggested by (blogless) JMutford:

Sometimes I find eccentric characters quirky and fun, other times I find them too unbelievable and annoying. What are some of the more outrageous characters you’ve read, and how do you feel about them?

- Hmmm, I do read lot of books that has quirky and fun characters and some that has characters doing outrageous things. But lot of time even outrageous characters don't bother me and I can still enjoy them. However last year, I've read the 3rd book of the Anonymous Thrillseekers "American Diva" by Julia London and the main heroine was too much for me that she had became unlikable for me. I just couldn't stand her. But than her role that she play is example of exactly how some real life celebrity have became after famous. So her character was well written. But "American Diva" was the weakest out of the first two of the Trilogy, IMO. I did managed to finish reading the book and when it end, I was just only glad it over :)

I love reading Julia London books and have read all the Anonymous Thrillseekers Trilogy and all the Lear Family Trilogy. I love the two Trilogies. I think that Julia London is enjoyable and worth to read. I'm slowly collection her older, classic books too. But I'm getting there :)

Than there is a heroine's family in "Good Girls Do" by Cathie Linz that I thought was quirky too. Everything they do are just crazy lol. Than there is Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. They're all quirky to me but very fun! I love this series.

What about you? What are some of the more outrageous characters you’ve read, and how do you feel about them?

Don’t forget to leave a link to your actual response (so people don’t have to go searching for it) in the comments—or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

Like you, I will not let annoying or outrageous characters get in my reading pleasure. The reason is simple, because they are all fictional and they are meant to entertain.

I'm glad you enjoyed Julia London's books. I noticed both of you shared the same first name. ;P

Melody - sharing the same name wasn't the reason why I chosen to read her LOL...and I agree with what you said :)

I rarely find that quirky=annoying. Instead it's just annoying that equals annoying. ;)

I really enjoy reading about eccentric characters, some are more quirky than others, but each one stands out.
